Short Vita
Annika Reinke (she/her) studied Sociology and Economics in Hamburg and Thessaloniki for her undergraduate degree and obtained her Master of Arts in Sociology at the University of Hamburg. Throughout her studies, she specialised in Economic Sociology and focused on analysing the institutional governance of climate change empirically. Moreover, she worked as a student assistant on various projects across different research institutions in social sciences. She is now a doctoral researcher in the DFG-funded Research Training Group “Fixing Futures: Technologies of Anticipation in Contemporary Societies”.

Project description
In her current research, Annika Reinke traces the practices, strategies, and devices used to manage economic losses and damages caused by weather and climate extreme events. She is interested in how technologies of anticipation contribute to the creation, maintenance, and transmission of asset values in the field of climate resilience. In particular, her research focuses on the adaptation of economic activities and monetary valuations to physical climate risks through monitoring and modelling infrastructures.
